I do my best to be available and accessible most of the day, but some ways of contacting me are better than others. To make sure you get the attention you deserve please choose the method below that most closely fits both our needs:
Twitter is the fastest, friendliest way to reach me
Need to ask a quick question? Send me an @reply on Twitter. You'll often have an answer within minutes. Twitter is where I am most active online these days.
If you have a question for a guest on the show, ask me on twitter during the live broadcast. I'll work it in if I can.
Is your question complicated? Call me!
If your question requires bouncing ideas back and forth, the phone is much quicker and easier than email.
My mobile number is 231.584.2710. Please call between 9 to 5 Pacific Standard Time only.
If I'm working in the studio, I probably won't hear the phone. Please do leave voicemail and I'll get back to you shortly. I have bad hearing, so it's helpful if you can repeat both your name and phone number at the end when leaving a message.
Email is my calendar and memory
For requests that involve scheduling (such as projects, interviews or speaking engagements) please use email. Email is also the best way to send me details that require long term memory. I am sometimes absent minded, sad to say, but if it's in my email I don't forget it.
You must provide a valid email address if you desire a reply to email sent through my contact form (it doesn't know who you are unless you tell it).
I reply to every e-mail as quickly as possible, usually within hours. If an answer to your e-mail requires a good deal of thought though, it may take me a week or so to get back to you.
Share your thoughts with other readers in the Comments
Every page on my site has a comment form which allows you to add your thoughts to the page permanently and publicly. In many cases, if you have a question, you probably aren't the only one… so having the answer in a public space is useful. The comment form asks for your email address only to verify that you are a person (as opposed to a software bot). Your email address will never be published on the blog and will not be sold, abused, or added to lists.
Please Note: page comments are moderated to insure appropriate content— they won't show up until I've read and approved them.
